Homemade Mother’s Day Gift IdeasAre you trying to come up with some homemade Mother’s Day gift ideas? Good for you!  Without mom, where would we all be?  It is time to celebrate mothers everywhere by creating some homemade gifts and presenting them to mom on Mother’s Day.  Mom is going to love the fact that you put some thought into creating something for her for Mother’s Day, instead of just rushing out at the last minute to buy her yet another tulip or gift basket.

Mom Will Love A Memory Jar

A memory jar is a fun way to reminisce.  It’s also a way to start new memories, especially if there are grandchildren involved.  Buy a see-through mason jar at a dollar store or crafts store along with some colorful construction paper.  Now, have some fun.  Write out your favorite memories from childhood, and have your children write about their favorite times spent with Grandma and Grandpa.  Put the memories in the memory jar, and include some rock glass or a packet of seeds.  If you want to get really fancy, paint the jar and tie a bow around it.

The memory jar does not have to be put away when Mother’s Day is done, either.  Why not keep it out and add memories to it on a regular basis?  Children might enjoy writing about how their days went and putting their memories in the jar.  It’s also a way for families to spend some much needed time together.  Maybe it’s time for a new family tradition to be born.  Cultivating memories is just one of many excellent homemade Mother’s Day gift ideas.

Who Wants A Carton Full Of Cupcakes?

Is there anyone who doesn’t love cupcakes?  How can you not?  And when they go mini it gets even better.  So for Mother’s Day this year, this is what you should do: bake up a whole battalion of mini cupcakes.  While they’re in the oven, start decorating an egg carton with ribbons and colored markers.  You can do anything you want, really.   Just dress up the egg carton because that is where you are going to put the mini cupcakes.

Make sure you decorate the cupcakes before you give them to your mom.  Sprinkles work well, as does confetti icing.  To make it really special, include a couple IOUs on pieces of paper that are folded and tucked between the cupcakes.  The IOUs could be for taking out the trash, doing the laundry, or emptying the dishwasher.  Use your imagination and make the IOUs something your mother would really appreciate.  IOUs are great homemade Mother’s Day gift ideas.

Create Your Own Mother’s Day Traditions

You are free to create your own Mother’s Day traditions at any time.  Perhaps you and your mother could do a scrapbook on Mother’s Day every year.  Or you could start a family album made up of only photographs taken on mom’s special day.  What is important is that you have fun and let your mother know how much you appreciate and love her.  And one of the best ways to do that is with homemade Mother’s Day gift ideas.
