It is important that when you are having your carpets cleaned that you are doing more than “spot removal”. If you do not you are jeopardizing the health and safety of not only yourself but you loved ones as well.
When cleaning you are going to want to avoid using carpet cleaners that contain any of the following chemicals:

Additionally, when dealing with cleaning companies make sure that you find out what products they will be using before you hire them. If you are purchasing your own products be sure to read the label before making the purchase.
To insure that the products that you are using are not going to be harmful to your baby research the ingredients on the U.S. Department of Health’s website.
To reduce the chance of mold as well as increase the drying time of your carpet use large fans.
After the carpet has been cleaned make sure that you keep the area cool and well ventilated.
Wait at least four hours before allowing children into the area that has just been cleaned.
